Wambo Coal Pty Ltd is the major sponsor of the Wambo Coal Singleton Hall of Fame. Wambo Coal’s General Manager Scott Sullivan welcomed the opportunity to be involved in a project which celebrates local achievements and builds community spirit. It is expected that the Wambo Coal Singleton Hall of Fame will be a source of civic pride which will inspire current and future generations of residents to strive and meet their aspirations. Wambo Coal has sponsored the program for a period of three years and Sarah Bailey, Wambo Coal’s Environment and Community Manager, is a member of the committee that developed the initiative. The committee's role is to decide which nominated individuals, families and organisations will be accepted into the Wambo Coal Singleton Hall of Fame. Other committee members include: Councillor Lee Gallagher, Mayor Sue Moore, Councillor Godfrey Adamthwaite, Scott Greensil (Singleton Council’s General Manager), Henry Wilson (Singleton Council’s Executive Manager Strategy and Governance), and Jennifer Underwood (Singleton Council’s Manager Community Services). People, families and organisations inducted into the Wambo Coal Singleton Hall of Fame will be selected from across our diverse community and will be recognised and celebrated for their outstanding achievements in the following categories:
The Wambo Coal Singleton Hall of Fame will be located on the Singleton Council website in order to maximise the opportunities to promote the achievements of inductees to the wider community. Commemorative plaques for each recipient will be displayed at the new Visitor Information Centre to be constructed in Town Head Park later this year.
